Meet Our New Doctors!
There are some new faces at Farmingdale Dog & Cat Clinic! We recently joined teams with Levittown Animal Hospital, and now have several new doctors on board that can’t wait to meet you and your pet.
Dr. Mark Nunez is a highly experienced and enthusiastic veterinarian from Louisiana. He started practicing veterinary medicine in Long Island after graduating in 2002 and has made a huge difference for pets of the Long Island community ever since. He has special interests in behavioral counseling, preventive medicine, dermatology, dentistry, nutritional counseling, arthritis, and endocrinology.
In the past, Dr. Nunez also ran a house-call practice, The Balanced Canine, to provide solutions to canine behavioral issues! He no longer does house-calls but is available to offer advice to clients.
Dr. Michael Funk is passionate about veterinary medicine and provides his clients and their pets with nothing short of the best. For three consecutive years (2014, 2015, & 2016), he was even named Best Veterinarian of Long Island! This recognition comes from his years of experience, gentle medicine, and dedication to keeping pet owners in the loop with open client communication.
Have you ever heard of Zeuterin? Dr. Funk is trained and certified to perform this non-surgical technique to neuter pets!
Dr. Sue Fischman has a special way of connecting with pets. She truly loves her career, especially interacting with clients who adore animals as much as her. In her free time, Dr. Fischman volunteers at local rescue organizations and generously gives back to the pet community. She has special interests in senior care, preventive medicine, client education, and animal welfare.
Dr. Fischman knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at the young age of 5 years old!
Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz was born and raised in New York before heading to the University of Pennsylvania for her degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Sorowitz believes client education is indispensable and key to the client experience and quality patient care. (We agree!) She also takes pride in diagnosing and treating complex cases as her goal is to always help a sick pet regain health and happiness.
Dr. Sorowitz has three feline family members; Dexter, Jax, and Tyrion. Can you guess which television series each cat is named after?!
Dr. James Keuhn is driven to make a difference in the lives of animals. That’s why he left his home in Rockville Centre for Iowa State University where he completed veterinary school, and we are so glad he returned to New York to practice! He has special interests in feline medicine, dentistry, and nutrition.
Dr. Keuhn’s wife is also a veterinarian! He enjoys spending his free time hiking and traveling.
